Powerhouse engineering firm expands Directorship in its 50th year
Ashburner Francis engineering consultancy has just strengthened the firm’s foothold in the design of building services across South-East Queensland and the Northern Territory. The appointment of four new Directors comes off the back of increasing demand for the firm’s services and a growing team of engineers to resource a hefty project portfolio. Soon to celebrate its 50th anniversary, Ashburner Francis is the engineering consultancy of choice among leading architects, developers and project managers.
The four new Directors are long-term Ashburner Francis employees John Kereczko, Clinton Walker, Neil Scott and Michael Heaslip. Their promotions look set to bolster the leadership teams across all four Ashburner Francis offices.

In Toowoomba, John Kereczko and Clinton Walker have been promoted to Directors after several years providing clients with engineering consultancy services for mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and energy-efficiency projects. Meanwhile, Townsville’s Neil Scott joins long-term Director Wayne Benson to build upon the firm’s success in that region.
Further north, Ashburner Francis Director Graham Heaslip has chosen to hand over the reins of senior management at the firm’s Northern Territory (NT) office. Graham will remain with Ashburner Francis as a Senior Associate but has passed the baton to new NT Director, Michael Heaslip. To facilitate a seamless transition for NT clients, Michael is predominantly based in Darwin but will also maintain his support for Ashburner Francis’ Brisbane office.
In total, the firm now has nine Directors. Newly appointed Directors Michael, John, Clinton and Neil join Managing Director Brian Kenny and Directors Toby Murdoch, Lara Harris, Paul McKenna and Wayne Benson in steering the business towards its sixth decade.
Managing Director Brian Kenny said Ashburner Francis’ expanding Directorship, in the firm’s 50th year, reflects a promising trajectory: “The demand for our services, and the quality of our work, is outstanding and these talented and driven individuals have played a significant role in securing our position in a competitive marketplace.”
“These promotions have been well won and I am confident John, Clinton, Neil and Michael will make meaningful contributions to our existing leadership team,” – Brian said.
